Brand and business
- What is the story behind the Artby brand?
Artby was established 2018 as a response to the traditional art market; a conservative market, prevalently reserved for the privileged few. We wanted to embrace the art market’s preference for uniqueness, selection and long-lasting quality. We also wanted to disrupt the market’s old-line structures, and simply make room for more. Today we collaborate with a selection on highly relevant artists
- Who are the founders of Artby?
Artby is founded by Karl Hardell and Sara Hardell Flagge
- Design philosophy?
Our aesthetic vision is to blend simplicity with non-stereotype expressions, and create long lasting items that are polished and untamed at the same time
As a brand and business we nurture responsibility. A main consideration is to reduce our negative impact, encourage sustainable consumption and contribute to cultural improvement - we support a refined and experimental art scene, that expands and literally finds its way into more people’s lives and homes
Artby’s flagship store and studio is housed within a historical building in central Umeå, in the north of Sweden. The headquarters include the Artby studio, head office and showroom
