Ordering online

How will I know if you received my order?

When you place an order on artby.com a confirmation will be sent to your registered email address. In the event that you have entered an incorrect email address, please contact our customer care team on customercare@artby.com

How do I cancel my order?

You cannot cancel your order yourself but we can of course help you. The order can only be cancelled before it has been shipped. After that we cannot guarantee a cancellation. If you have requested a cancellation after the order has been shipped, you must return it for a refund instead

I've added the incorrect shipping address, how do I change it?

Unfortunately you cannot update your shipping address yourself after the order has been placed. Please contact our customer care team at info@artby.com to change your shipping address. The shipping address can only be changed before the order has been shipped

 

Shipping and delivery

From where do you ship?

All orders are shipped from the Artby printmaking studio in Sweden

How many days does it take for my order to arrive?

Shipping usually takes between five and seven business days depending on country, but may take up to ten days for some destinations

Is my package insured?

All items are insured against theft and accidental damage whilst in transit from the Artby studio to the shipping address. Once your items have been delivered to the specified delivery address and signed for, they are no longer covered by insurance

When will I receive my order?

The regular processing time is between three to five business days, and the estimated delivery time is depending on the country. For standard shipping, you should have your order within seven business days from placing the order

Where does Artby deliver?

We currently deliver to all Scandinavian countries, all within EU, Switzerland, Norway, and United States. At the checkout you will be able to choose your shipping country

To which countries do you ship DDP?

We ship Delivery Duty Paid (DDP) to all countries within EU, Switzerland, Norway, and United States

How much duty and tax will I have to pay?

Unfortunately we cannot estimate how much duties you will pay. If your order is shipped Delivery Duty Paid (DDP) you will not have to pay any duties, but if the order is shipped DDU your local customs should be able to estimate the price. Kindly note that for orders in the US we are obligated to collect state sales tax in California and New York

How much do I pay for shipping?

Under our help section you will find the delivery costs for your country. Orders including the Artby frame has a more expensive delivery cost due to the weight of the frame

 

Payment

What payment methods does Artby accept?

We offer three different payment methods, Klarna, PayPal and credit cards. In all countries we accept credit cards, but in many countries we also offer PayPal and Klarna. At checkout you will see what payment methods we offer in your shipping country

Is it safe to use my credit card online at Artby?

Your personal online security is very important to us. To help ensure your shopping experience is safe, simple and secure we use Secure Socket Layers (SSL), the industry standard in transferring information to process your orders. To ensure your information is kept private, we do not process or store any payment information in our database

In which currency will my purchase be made?

We charge in different currencies in different countries. Most countries are charged in local currency while some other countries are charged in either Euro or USD. In the currency selection list on the board at the top of the site, you are able to decide what currency you will be charged in

When will I be charged?

When you place an order with us, we place an authorization on the form of payment you used and the funds are temporarily reserved for your purchase but you are not actually charged. When your order has been dispatched, we will capture the funds from your account. Orders placed with PayPal and other HPP payment methods are captured immediately when the order is placed

Why was my credit/debit card declined at checkout?

If your order attempt was declined, this can often be due to your bank. We suggest that you contact your bank or card-issuing company to ask if they have any kind of block on your card. If you receive another error message, please contact our customer care team and we will do our best assist you

Will there be any additional costs to my order?

Norway, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, USA & Canada are shipped on a DDP (Delivery Duty Paid) basis, meaning all taxes and import duties are included in the final price. Hence, your order will not be subject to any additional charges. Orders within the European Union are also shipped DDP and will not be subject to any additional charges. Countries outside the European Union are shipped DDU and additional charges may be added by your local customs

Can I claim a tax refund on a purchase made online?

Unfortunately we currently do not offer tax refunds online. Please contact our customer service for further information on how to proceed

I have a gift card certificate. How can I use it?

If you have a gift card certificate, you can simply use it by entering your gift card code in the second step of the checkout at the “payment” section. You will have a button called Gift Card, where you can enter your code. Please note that gift cards purchased online can only be used online and not in store. Gift cards bought in store can only be used in store and not online

 

Returns

How do I return an item?

We offer full refunds if an unwanted product is shipped/postmarked within 14 days from when it was delivered to you. In order to receive a full refund, the item must be returned in its original condition

Can I return my online purchase at the Artby store?

Within 14 days of receipt, our flagship store in Sweden can accept returns of online purchases made in Sweden. You must bring your online order number in order to receive assistance, and our regular online return policy applies to any returns made in-store. The return address is: Artby | Kungsgatan 49 | 903 26 Umeå |Sweden

When do I get my refund?

When we have received and processed your return, you will receive an email notification. Normally it takes 4-5 business days before you can see the refund back on your account, depending on your bank/credit card/form of payment

Who are the artists?

Our artists are connected to the Scandinavian art scene. We represent younger artists in their early career as well as mid/late-career artists with broad market acceptance

How are the artists selected?

All artists are carefully handpicked. The selection process involves the head curator of Artby and the Artby advisory board. Some collections are co-curated by selected and internationally renowned creatives

Can artists contact Artby for collaboration?

Yes. On a daily basis we are contacted by artists who are interested in collaborating with Artby. All requests should be sent to info@artby.com, and will be reviewed once a month.

Which kind of printing technique and materials are used?

The Artby editions are giclée prints and qualifies as fine art prints. They are produced and quality assured at the Artby studio. We work exclusively with acid free, heavyweight paper (308/310 gsm) and high density pigments. The Artby editions have archival quality and each art print has a life expectancy of 100 years

”Limited edition”, what does this mean?

All our editions are exclusively presented and sold under the Artby brand. Our limited editions are, as the term indicates, limited - when they are sold out, they can no longer be produced and sold. These editions are always approved by the artist and numbered

How often is new art released?

Each year we curate three separate art collections with art prints in limited editions. Additionally we release a few open editions as well as a few special limited editions - these special editions are particularly delicate artworks for particularly delicate tastes

 

Brand, founders and partners

What is the story behind the Artby brand?

 

 

 

Artby was established 2018 as a response to the traditionally exclusive and excluding art market. We wanted to embrace the market’s preference for quality and originality, but we also wanted to open up the market and make room for new artists, new art buyers and new art collectors. By appropriating a logic from fashion we found a balance between being exclusive and inclusive: we turned ourselves into an independent Scandinavian art brand that - in similarity to fashion houses or premium fashion brands - collaborates with creatives, controls the full production process, and launches carefully curated collections on a broader and vibrant lifestyle market

Who are the founders of Artby?

Artby is founded and led by Karl Hardell and Sara Hardell Flagge. Apart from sharing a passion for contemporary art and progressive creativity, we are interested in juxtaposing heterogeneity with unity - we search for diversity and strong artistic individuality, we also look for a coherent product line with unifying collection themes, signature papers and signature frames

Who else is involved?

Our first printmaker Ebba Forsberg runs the Artby studio, with support from the senior advisor Stefan Olsson. Sara Almgren is our house photographer. The Artby advisory board includes practicing artists as well as art theorists: Olav Westphalen, Swetlana Heger-Davis, Max Liljefors and Christoph Draeger, all internationally established. We also rely on a group of external creatives: Lampray, BNJ & co, Geelmuyden Kiese, Punkt PR and Zago, to name a few

Where is the flagship store and printmaking studio located?

Artby’s flagship store and studio is housed within a historical building in central Umeå, in the north of Sweden. The headquarters include head office, showroom and a work space for visiting artists
